When the weather breaks in New York City the first few items that people seem to grab out the closet first are a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and flip-flops. It's strange how New York fashion in my opinion declines over the summer months. As a person who is aspiring to have his own clothing line, I believe it's important for me to pay attention to fashion as the seasons change. Changing of the seasons often dictate the changing in styles and often times creates new trends.

As I walk the streets of New York or ride the subway lately, I am beginning to realize the struggle people have when trying to piece together an outfit around a t-shirt. It's not so much the brand they have chosen to wear but they all select t-shirts that don't add dimension to their overall look. There is no life added to the outfit. In the past, I would have a personal struggle when it came to pulling off a trendy and stylish look. The heat would always interfere with my efforts to create a look that would capture the eye of others but one that was put together effortlessly.
I believe t-Shirts are the heart of summer apparel but after years of never being satisfied with my summer look, I decided to create a line of ultra exclusive t-shirts as the starting line for the Urban FLRT clothing line. Living in a city where t-shirts become the canvas of fashion in the summer is the reason why I decided to start my clothing line with t-shirts. I don't know where my love for t-shirts began but I have become a lover of the art of creating stylish and fashionable t-shirts. I've watched too many people in New York make big fashion mistakes where there was a need for the "Fashion Police" to come and ticket them.
The t-shirts I create are more than just a quick put-me-on and run to the grocery store apparel. They are pieces of our wardrobe that we should pay more attention to and one article of clothing that stands out. After seeing so many fashion mistakes, I am on a mission to create t-shirts that make a statement, add volume and character to a person's summer outfit. Although, I do believe the basic black v-neck works, it's not enough. Being described as someone with a bubbly personality who likes to dress well, I think the handy dandy black v-neck is boring.
Today, I realized my vision is possible because so many t-shirt fashion victims are starving for more than just the "I Love NY" t-shirts. Lucky for them, Urban FLRT is building its clothing line with them in mind. Urban FLRT is here to save the day. Hopefully after reading this post, you won't look at t-shirts the same!
